Welcome to Ballroom Dancing Cruises, a resource for anyone interested in taking a ballroom dance cruise, ballroom dance vacation or attend a ballroom dance camp.  We recently started our research into finding a ballroom dance cruise and realized that there is very little information on ballroom dancing cruises on the internet.  We found several websites advertising ballroom dance cruises but no single resources specializing in ballroom dance cruises. We've combined our research and input from others to create this growing resource of information on dancing cruises around the world.

With the ever increasing popularity of ballroom dancing with all ages of the population, more and more cruise ships are beginning to add programs and events that cater to the ballroom dancer, including theme cruises, lessons, dance parties and competitions.

What is a Ballroom Dance Cruise?

A ballroom dance cruise is actually an excursion organized by a ballroom dance instructor or ballroom dance company.  The dance instructor or dance company will generally reserve a section of cabins on a cruise ship designated for their particular dance party.  The dance cruises are open to members of the dance club and almost always to other ballroom dancers interested in joining the cruise and the ballroom dance party.

What is normally included?

Attendees of the ballroom dance cruises get all the benefits of a regular cruise ship with the added benefit of dance lessons from the dance instructors organizing the ballroom dance cruise.  One major benefit of a ballroom dance cruise is that the dance instructors or dance companies organizing the cruise will usually reserve dance floor space on the cruise ship just for their dance party.   The lessons and workshops will be offered at certain times through-out the day usually just on sailing days. 

Do I need to be an experienced dancer to attend a ballroom dance cruise?

You don’t have to be an experienced ballroom dancer to attend a ballroom dance cruise.  Most ballroom dance cruises will offer beginning, intermediate and advanced group lessons.  Depending on the cruise, you may also be able to request private lessons for an additional fee.
